MYPT work with a number of charities and NGOs (Non-Governmental Organisations).
In recent years Hope and Homes for Children (H&HC) have been, and continues to be one of the biggest supporters of the Workshop project. They are a large organisation playing a crucial role in the reform of orphanages in Maramures county. They work to convince the authorities to move away from a system that maintains huge orphanages at great expense to one which combines preventative measures such as respite care, support in the community, temporary fostering, with care in small family group homes for those who are harder to place. H&HC's plan is to expand their work into other parts of Romania and the Workshop is providing much of the required furniture.

"I have the highest regard for the Workshop project in Baia Mare and delighted that we, Hope & Homes for Children, are able to work with you...

I have visited the Workshop on many occasions and seen the excellent work they do."

The Cleaford Trust has taken over some of the work that the Romanian Information Centre used to carry out before loss of funding forced its closure. Cleaford upholds the tradition of mutual support by bringing charities that work in Romania together to exchange information and ideas. Apart from a regular newsletter giving the latest changes to visa regulations or changes to customs, it has links to all kinds of UK charities working throughout Romania.

Hope Romania was founded in 1991 with the aim of rescuing orphaned and abandoned children, bringing them up in a safe and loving environment. Their home, named 'Casa Hope' (House of Hope) is located in Baia Mare and from here they also run a bread kitchen for the poor and needy in the town. Hope Romania

The Romanian Dental Link Foundation worked throughout Maramures since the early 1990s, giving free dental care to the poor, and had a very close bond with MYPT. They have done a great deal in the county over the years and we are proud to have had them as our friends. In 2002 they decided to wind down their operations in Romania and have kindly passed their remaining funds to the MYPT - thank you RDLF.

Other UK charities that have been supplied with toys and furniture from the Workshop include FARA and The Sunflower Fellowship who operate a holiday home in the Danube Delta for children with HIV, Aids and other special needs.

Romania.org is a portal site set up in 1994 that focuses entirely on Romania and is well worth visiting.

Links are also given to Habitat for Humanity that helps to provide affordable housing to those in need in Romania and Convoy 2000 who provides humanitarian aid and various life-changing projects in the country.

Sincere thanks are extended to Metabo UK, a woodwork machinery supplier who have consistently supported our work. Special thanks to Brian Gillet and the Managing Director Mr Duncan Ironside.

And finally, just to get a sense of the beauty of Romania and its traditional folk costumes, dances, music from the ethnographic regions of Romania, have a look at the Eliznik Romania Pages.
